Russian and Finnish participants discussed of the new technologies in the field of railway transport

On February 17, the Russian-Finnish Session in sharing experience "New technologies in the field of railway transport" was held. The organizers of the event were the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the CBC Bringing Together project, JSC "Scientific Research Institute of Railway Transport" (JSC "VNIIZHT") and the Center for the Corporate Accelerator of Start-up Projects of JSC "Russian Railways".

Ludmila Karelina, Project Manager, vice president of the SPbCCI, welcomed the participants of the session and invited them to register on the Digital Platform of Cross-Border Cooperation of the Bringing Together project. The participants were also greeted by Harri Pietarila, Director of Expert Services of the Finnish Meteorological Institute, and Roman Koshelev, Head of the Center "Corporate Accelerator of Startup Projects" of JSC "Russian Railways", VNIIZHT, who in his speech highlighted the priority areas of the organization of work of the Russian Railways Accelerator with innovative projects.

Representatives of VNIIZHT shared their developments and the main directions of activities. Mikhail Mehedov, Deputy General Director, spoke about the prospects for the development of accelerated freight transport. The speech of Aleksander Adadurov, Deputy General Director - Director of the Scientific Information and Analytical Center, was devoted to the new solution KONKLOK: non-contact measurement of geometric parameters of wheel pairs in motion installation of an automated. Sergey Naumenko, Head of the Department of the Center "Electrification and Thermal Power Engineering", presented the Complex “OLIMP”: express assessment of the total heat transfer coefficient of the body of an isothermal vehicle.

From Finnish side were made of the speeches on topical issues of the industry development. Mr. Juha Lehtola (Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency) presented the Digital projects in railway transport management. Mrs.Jenni Latikka (Finnish Meteorological Institute) introduced the participants to the FMI innovative services to the Railway sector. Mr. Harri Mustonen (KINNO) spoke about the Smart Hub Solutions project, which is a continuation of the project to create an intermodal terminal in Kouvola. Prof. Olli-Pekka Hilmola (LUT University) presented of the subject about the current railway container transportation flows.

In the final part of the event, startup projects "Mpfit", "RevGames", "Jolt", "Callpy.com ", "AXELOT WMS X5", "Digital Wave" and "KS2 Engineering", which became finalists of the acceleration program of JSC "Russian Railways" in 2021, were presented. Ludmila Karelina invited the speakers to register on the Bringing Together platform and post information about projects.
