Ludmila Karelina made a presentation at the Strategic Forum about the role of cross-border cooperation program for the region development
On October 25, within the framework of the XIX Annual Strategic Planning Leaders Forum, a round table "Cross-Border Cooperation – in action for border regions" was held, organized by the South-East Finland-Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020, Karelia CBC Programme 2014-2020 and Kolarctic CBC Programme 2014-2020.
Ludmila Karelina, Project Leader, vice-president of the SPbCCI, spoke about the role of the CBC program for the region development, and also presented the projects Bringing Together and Green InterTraffic. The speaker highlighted 9 key elements of the successful implementation of cross-border cooperation projects, among them: compliance with the strategic documents of the region development, the formation of an effective team and partner network, the development of common innovative research approaches, the implementation of the educational component, etc.
Moderator of the round table: Igor Kapyrin, Deputy Director of the Department of European Cooperation of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The speakers of the event were Anna Popova, Deputy Director of Department of Development of integration projects and CIS countries of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Bror Martin Karlsson, Desk Officer of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Sweden, Laurent Bochereau, Minister-Counsellor, Head of Science and Technology and Other EU Policies Section of the Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation, Jukka-Pekka Bergman, Programme Director of the South-East Finland – Russia CBC Programme 2014-2020, and other representatives of authorities, programs and projects. The participants discussed issues related to the development of cross-border cooperation in the next program period 2021-2027 and the implementation of strategies to achieve sustainable development goals.
